Fishermen's Rooms
for a comfortable rest after your day on Lake Simcoe.
We have a selection of rooms which we re-decorate for the comfort and convenience of our fishing guests. This is because most of our fishing clientele would prefer accommodation with a simpler more rugged flavor, a place where they can rest their weary bones after a long day traveling to get here or out on Lake Simcoe ice fishing. To gather a taste of a day fishing on the shores of Lake Simcoe, check out Joshua's page.
Also during the ice fishing season, much of the interior of our Inn reflects the feel and charm of a real sportsman’s cottage, where our guests enjoy sharing notes on that day’s great fishing spots, peering over maps, getting their gear ready for the day’s activities, watching television, or simply lighting a fire for the sheer enjoyment of a warm cozy evening, alone or together as a group.
In several of our rooms a king bed or two singles could be available upon request to accommodate couples or groups. Click here to view an example. Please speak to the Innkeeper when booking for more information.
Our Jacuzzi Suite is always available for our fishing couples, and ideal for combining their fishing trip with a special celebration; or for those needing a nice relaxing hot tub experience, after their day on the open ice.
Fishermen may be interested to note that our kitchen is open for those wanting to cook their catch of the day, heat up their own pre-prepared meals, or arrange for a BBQ or shared dinner with the innkeepers. A bowl of piping hot, nourishing chicken soup (for the weary traveler’s soul) is available on request.
Cook's Bay and Lake Simcoe, offer some of the best fishing in the province. The lake is fished year round, and is famous for it's winter Lake Trout and Whitefish bonanza that have given the lake the title of "Ice Fishing Capital of Canada" and home to the Canadian Ice Fishing Championships. Other species common to the lake through the winter Ice Fishing season are Lake Perch, Pike, and Walleye.
