Joshua's fishing story
Joshua and his father come to the Inn every year to fish Lake Simcoe, and he has been fishing since he was three years old, still very much in diapers.
Joshua loves our pancake breakfast, and loves my grand daughter Isyss’ recipe which is ‘a tad of butter on hot pancakes, followed by orange marmalade, and drizzled with pure Canadian Maple Syrup to finish it off’. Isyss said to me many years ago, ‘Grandee, you have not lived yet until you have eaten your pancakes this way” she was four years old then. Imagine!
Here are a few pic’s of Joshua latest visit to the Inn ( Winter 2008) and his Ice fishing adventures on Lake Simcoe. Joshua and his dad returned to the Inn telling tales of how proud his father was, as he caught these two beautiful 13” perch in 25 feet of water, using the flasher and all artificial baits (Little Atom Nuggies and Fiskas Wolfram jigs).
As the story goes, Joshn jigged those fish up, set the hook and fought them all the way to the hole! I don’t know who was more excited, Joshua or his dad …What made the weekend ever more special is that Joshua caught the fish using a special spring bobber rod that his dad had built for him to use with a very simple Daiwa underspin reel.
